July 4 Celebration with the LandSharks

Join the Town of Blacksburg for a free “Buffett” of music, fun, and fireworks at the July 4 celebration, sponsored by Clean & Green Technologies, Hawthorn Suites, and Oldies Radio 101.3 Z-FM.

At 2 p.m., bring the family downtown to enjoy the parade followed by National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets at the Lyric, sponsored by the Mt. Tabor Ruritan Club.

Afterwards, head over to Municipal Park, across from Blacksburg High School, for more fun, including the Blacksburg Community Band at 6 p.m. Put on your flip flops and relax to music by the LandSharks, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, playing at 8:15 p.m. The sky over Blacksburg will light up with fireworks at 9:30 pm, followed by a LandSharks encore.

Don’t want to pay for the gas to get there? Blacksburg Transit will run shuttles beginning at 5 p.m. from Lot 2 on Perry Street to Patrick Henry Drive next to the Blacksburg Community Center. Visit www.btransit.org for details.
