This part-time position will assist the Office Manager at the front desk of the Planning & Building Department. Duties will include: answering a multi-line telephone system, greeting citizens, connecting walk-in citizens and those with appointments to the appropriate town staff. This position will also assist the Office Manager as needed with copying, filing, document management scanning, mass mailings and other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma or G.E.D., valid Virginia driver's license and an excellent driving record are required. This position requires excellent customer service skills and experience working with computers and computer software. A satisfactory post offer pre-employment criminal background investigation will be required of the selected applicant.
Hourly rate is $9.00. This position will require 20 hours per week. Selected applicant will work 5 days a week with a set schedule each day. Afternoons are preferred but not required. This position will not exceed 1,500 hours during any consecutive 12 month period.
