Once you are settled in to your new place we hope that you will get involved with your community.

Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
Get to know your neighbors and maybe even invite them over. Before you have a party, let your neighbors know ahead of time, and after clean up the trash left in the yards. Remind your guests to treat your home and surrounding properties as if it were their own. Encourage neighbors to contact you first if there are problems, and be responsive to their concerns. Respect the noise ordinance, and monitor and eliminate noise after 10 pm.

Get Out and Active
There is so much to do in Blacksburg! We have an amazing Parks and Recreation department with hundreds of programsaquatic and community centers, a golf course and acres of parks. Virginia Tech also offers Venture Out programs.

The Hokie Nation is known for its generosity and volunteer spirit. There are many ways to volunteer in and around Blacksburg.
