CUP18-0002 - Conditional Use Permit request for Office on the Ground Floor in DC Downtown Commercial at 220 S. Main St. (Tax Map No. 257-C A 1) by Aaron Harris of Pointe West Management (applicant) on behalf of Kent Square, LLC (owner).
The Blacksburg Planning and Building Department has received a request for a Conditional Use Permit for Office on the Ground Floor in the DC Downtown Commercial Zoning District. The applicant, Pointe West Management, has an existing CUP for Office on the Ground Floor at 208 S. Main St. The property management and real estate business has grown beyond the limits of 208 S. Main St. and the applicant would like to move to a larger unit at 220 S. Main St. The unit is now vacant but has previously housed First Bank and Suntrust Bank. The Future Land Use Designation for the parcel is High Impact Commercial. This proposal does not affect resident density. Office use on the ground floor in Downtown Commercial is not a by-right use therefore a conditional use permit is required. The property at 208 S. Main St. will be vacant until another tenant is found.

This is an informal meeting that will give the applicant the opportunity to present the plans and provide attendees with the opportunity to ask questions. A staff member from the Planning department will forward the notes from the meeting to the Planning Commission and Town Council.

Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 5 p.m. in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building Conference Room at 400 S. Main St.

The Planning Commission will review the request and the staff report. There will be an opportunity for the applicant to present the proposal. The public is welcome to attend, however, this is not a public hearing, and there will not be an opportunity for public comment.
