About Us

The Community Relations Office (CRO) is responsible for managing and disseminating information to the public on behalf of the town government. The CRO acts as a point of contact for citizen and media inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate communication through various channels.

As the liaison between local government and the surrounding community, Community Relations works to build and maintain positive relationships by actively engaging with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders through outreach programs, events, and initiatives.

WTOB is the digital production arm of the Community Relations Office, launched as Blacksburg’s community access television station in 1986. Today, while WTOB still airs on Comcast Channel 2, the majority of programming can be found on YouTube, and integrated into the town’s various communications and outreach efforts.
