Blacksburg is the quintessential university town rooted in its rich history but beaming at every corner with a nod to the quirky, the inventive, and the creative. Best known as the home of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg has a bohemian vibe that’s equally attractive to young professionals, retirees, and weekenders. “Let’s Go Hokies!” rings familiar to the ears of locals and students alike and football weekends in the fall are experiences in and of themselves.

Art, more than a form of expression, is a way of life in Blacksburg. On any given night, one can experience the lively music of Sidewalk Stage along College Avenue, out of this world shopping and dining, a show at the historic Lyric Theatre, or a world class performance at the Moss Arts Center  at Virginia Tech. For the late-nighters, the fun continues with everything from Funk to Rock and Roll at some of Blacksburg’s infamous  establishments.

Just around the block is Market Square Park where the farm to table experience comes to life and the talents of artisans throughout the valley are celebrated on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the warm weather months. Wednesday evenings in the summer brings out the talents and revelry of heritage music and dance at the Market Square Jam.
