Dust off your drums and mark your calendars! The Blacksburg Drum Circle is back! The drum circle will run throughout the summer meeting the second and fourth Fridays in June, July, and August, 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Market Square Park, 100 Draper Rd., NW as part of Blacksburg’s Sidewalk Stage program.
*Please note: There are a few park benches at the market, but you may wish to bring a lawn chair to sit on for your comfort should the bench spaces be claimed.
In case of rain, the circle will move indoors to Northside Presbyterian, 1017 Progress St., SW.
This rhythmic experience is intended to build a musical community focused on mutual support, connection, and a sense of well-being while celebrating everyone’s creative expression. No previous drumming experience needed. You have a heartbeat, so you have a rhythm to bring to the circle. There will have some percussion for individuals to use, but if you have a drum, rattle, shaker, or any other percussive instrument, please bring. The more the merrier. All levels of rhythm makers and lovers of rhythm are welcome. Please feel free to join in drumming and / or dancing as the beats inspire your hands, feet, and heart to move.
