The Blacksburg Fire Department would like to invite you to their annual Open House at 407 Hubbard St. (note different location from previous years).

Come meet the firefighters and see the trucks. Sparky The Fire Dog will make guest appearances. LewisGale Hospital Montgomery will be providing light refreshments.

This year the Fire Prevention Week theme is, "Look. Listen. Learn. – Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.” Today’s home fires burn faster than ever. In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Knowing how to use that time wisely takes planning and practice. 

Look for places fire could start. Listen for the sound of the smoke alarm. Learn two ways out of every room.
