Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting

The Blacksburg Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 3 p.m. in the large conference room of the Blacksburg Motor Company Building, 400 S. Main St., Blacksburg, to hear the following case: 

BZA Case #18-0002 – Appeal of a Zoning Violation in the R-5 Transitional Residential Zoning District at 800 Progress St. (Tax Map No. 226-5 1,2,3). Mr. Bhaba R. Misra (property owner) is appealing Zoning Violation #18-008 issued on Nov. 7, 2018 for exceeding the maximum allowed occupancy at 800 Progress St. in the R-5 Transitional Zoning District. 

Appeal of an Over Occupancy Zoning Violation for 800 Progress St. in an R-5 Transitional Zoning District. Maximum occupancy is a family plus two persons not related to the family, or not more than three unrelated individuals. For a detached single-family dwelling with a nonconforming accessory apartment, occupancy shall be figured cumulatively including both the single-family dwelling and the accessory apartment for a total not to exceed three (3) unrelated persons - Zoning Ordinance Section 3052(f)

Persons with an interest in this case may appear and present their views at the public hearing. After the hearing for the case, the board will consider making a decision on the appeal. Copies of the appeals and associated materials may be examined at the Planning & Building Department, Blacksburg Motor Company Building, 400 S. Main St., Blacksburg. on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
