The Downtown Strategic Plan was created through a planning process that has helped the Blacksburg community formulate a set of strategies that will help guide development for the next several decades. On Monday, Jan. 28, 5-7 p.m., the Town of Blacksburg in partnership with Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. will host an open house to showcase these strategies and ideas to the community. Come join us in the lobby of Kent Square, (200 block of S. Main St.), for light hors d’oeuvres and beverages as you learn about the future vision of downtown Blacksburg.  

The plan is the culmination of over a year long process that consisted of four public meetings and over 1,000 citizens participating in the process. This process allowed the community to take a proactive role in deciding how Downtown can accommodate expected growth, serve the needs of residents and workers, and reflect the values of the town. Come join us to learn about what the future vision of downtown is and what we can expect to see in the next decade plus.
