There's so much more to the music of the Caribbean Islands than what most people perceive. Each style is distinctly different and more exciting than the next. Tropikiimba's specialty is Afro-Latino music, which is guaranteed to get people on their feet and dancing; For example: Salsa, Timba, Songo, Bolero, Danzon, Cha Cha Cha, Charanga, Rumba, Bachata, Merengue and Vallenato. The band can also play other Afro-Caribbean styles if needed for special events.

Orquesta Tropikiimba is one of few authentic Afro-Caribbean Orchestras in the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. area. Many of the band members are from countries such as Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Panama, Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, St. Thomas and the United States.
