Electric Car Display!

This event is also part of National Drive Electric Week. Join us for a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Are you considering going electric? Come talk to owners who have successfully done so.

The Last Plastic Straw Campaign

Every day in the U.S., people use 500 million straws a day – enough to circle to planet more than two-and-a-half times! Straws are now one of the top 10 marine debris items found on our beaches. And by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean.

Throughout the week we will be celebrating businesses who have pledged to lessen their straw use in 2018 and announcing new establishments that join us in ‘The Last Plastic Straw Blacksburg Restaurant Campaign’ to reduce community and global straw use.
