CUP19-0007 Conditional Use Permit request for Office/Club Use and CUP19-0008 Conditional Use Permit request for vehicle use of Alley for non-residential uses in the OTR- Old Town Residential Zoning District on 0.341 acres at 205 Kent Street (Tax Map No. 256-6SEC 4 3, 4A) by Ryan Seavy of r(plus) incorporated (applicant) and H C M F XXXIII Partnership (property owner).
The Blacksburg Planning and Building Department has received applications for two conditional use permits requests at 205 Kent Street. The first conditional use permit application request would allow an office use with accessory use as a club for 205 Kent Street. The Cranwell Foundation offices would occupy the second floor of the existing structure. The building’s ground floor would be expanded to accommodate the associated club use and will be used to host events.
The zoning ordinance allows for residential use of an alley. However, non-residential uses require permission for the use of an alley. There is an associated second conditional use permit request to allow vehicular access in an alley for a non-residential use behind the proposed office use at 205 Kent Street in the OTR-Old Town Residential Zoning District. The alley is proposed to provide access to the proposed 6 parking spaces to serve the office and club use.
