The Town of Blacksburg is holding its fireworks display on Saturday, July 4, but have canceled other annual Fourth of July celebrations due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) precautions.
Fireworks provide an opportunity for residents to celebrate the Fourth of July while still maintaining healthy practices. Both localities encourage residents to enjoy the displays with their families and with proper social distancing. Most importantly, individuals are asked to stay home if sick.
The Town of Blacksburg’s fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m. from the Old Blacksburg High School property on Patrick Henry Drive. We encourage those who can watch the fireworks from their residences to do so. Fireworks can also be viewed from the Food Lion shopping plaza on the corner of Patrick Henry Dr. and N. Main St. In case of rain, fireworks will not be rescheduled. Blacksburg’s annual parade and music festivities are canceled.
