Blacksburg Police Department strives to assist town residents in areas such as personal safety for children and adults, neighborhood and apartment watch programs, victim/witness assistance, child safety seat installations, and a myriad of other prevention education programs.
The unit currently consists of community outreach and crime prevention specialists, D.A.R.E. officer, school resource officers, and police service officers. Requests for information regarding prevention programs may be addressed to the Police Services Division by calling 540-443-1438, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
