The Town of Blacksburg Refuse and Recycling program provides waste minimization, recycling, and refuse collection services to residents. Resources are also available to residents, apartment and townhouse complexes, commercial and industrial properties, and schools. The Town of Blacksburg Refuse and Recycling program strives to develop and enhance the program in order to promote environmental sustainability.

To town residents on curbside service, you can pick up a recycling calendar magnet for your refrigerator at the following town departments:

• Blacksburg Aquatic Center, 625 Patrick Henry Dr. 
• Parks and Recreation Administration Building, 615 Patrick Henry Dr. 
• Blacksburg Community Center, 725 Patrick Henry Dr. 
• Blacksburg Municipal Building, 300 S. Main St.

Or, simply print off the calendar (PDF) and hang it where ever you want.
Your service day highlighted in green are recycling days as well as trash pick up.

On occasion, service dates change. Please refer to the Town of Blacksburg events and activities calendar for the most current information regarding refuse and recycling collection.

Schedule a Special Pickup

Residents wishing to dispose of brush, debris or bulky rubbish outside the scheduled pick up time must schedule a special pickup. Special pickups are provided to trash customers outside of the fall and spring cleanups. There is a $75 prepaid charge per dump truck load. Pickups are every Friday excluding holidays. The $75 has to be prepaid by the Wednesday of the week you would like the pickup. Payments can be made over the phone at 540-443-1060 using a Visa or MasterCard or in person at the cashier's window on the second floor of the Municipal Building at 300 S. Main Street.
