Blacksburg Planning Commission reviews issues related to community growth and development. The commission makes recommendations to Town Council on zoning and subdivision policies and land development requests. Public hearings are held by the Planning Commission to allow citizens to speak on land use recommendations which are then forwarded to Town Council for final action. There are guidelines for PowerPoint presentations during televised Town Council and Planning Commission meetings.
Planning Commission meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers, second floor of the Blacksburg Municipal Building, 300 S. Main St. Meetings are open to the public and televised live on Comcast Cable Channel 2. They can also be viewed in the Media Center or on the Town of Blacksburg YouTube Channel. Notices of public hearings are published in the Roanoke Times NRV section 13 and 20 days prior to the public hearing date, and can also be found with additional project information online.
