Description:

A rezoning request from Transitional Residential (R-5) to Planned Residential (PR), which would permit the construction of two 3-story multifamily buildings with up to a maximum of 72 bedrooms.

The 42 units would be a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom units.

Twenty percent (20%) of the units will be income restricted to households earning less than 80% of Area Median Income (AMI), and will be managed by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).  

A pedestrian connection to the future trail at Midtown is proposed on the site.

The Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use (FLU) Designation is Medium-Density Residential.  The proposal for 46 bedrooms/acre or 27 units/acre represents an increase above the FLU Designation.
