Apartments and Townhouses

Most apartment and townhouse complexes provide private trash service to their tenants. Check with the complex's property manager to determine the details of service. Apartments are required to provide recycling services to their tenants according to § 20-403 of the town code. The Town of Blacksburg is a resource for apartment refuse and recycling services. Property managers or tenants who are interested in starting or expanding recycling services, please contact the Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling at 540-443-1212 or at recycle@blacksburg.gov. All apartments not using town service are required to submit disposal rates to the town on a semi-annual basis according to § 20-403 of the town code.

Commercial and Industrial Properties

Like apartments, most commercial and industrial properties are responsible for their own refuse and recycling. The Town of Blacksburg can serve as a resource and provide information to these properties. All commercial and industrial properties are required to submit disposal rates to the town on a semi-annual basis according to § 20-142 of the town code.
